Supporting Blockchain Innovation in South Africa
Unlocking blockchain potential through strategic funding
Proudly supported by strategic partners including Spribe, a company known for blending technology, entertainment, and digital innovation through blockchain-based solutions. Their involvement reflects a shared commitment to empowering local ecosystems and demonstrating how blockchain can drive real-world impact.
At SANBA, we believe the future of blockchain in South Africa depends on more than collaboration — access to funding is essential. That’s why we work closely with innovation-driven partners to open doors for developers, entrepreneurs, and changemakers across the country.
Funding opportunities are shared with our members as they become available. These initiatives aim to empower local talent, encourage inclusive innovation, and support economic transformation through blockchain.
Current funding initiatives
Global Innovation Fund (GIF)
SANBA supports the agreement between the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) and the Global Innovation Fund — a hybrid investment fund designed to pilot, test, and scale innovations that improve lives in developing countries. Innovators working with blockchain and digital solutions are encouraged to submit proposals.
GIF goes beyond concept-stage ideas and invests in solutions ready for real-world implementation and long-term scale.
